About me

I’ve spent my career around water and the environment — more than 20 years of it, including environmental management and water regulation roles with the Queensland Government. That regulator’s perspective still shapes how I work: I know what auditors and regulators actually look for, because I’ve been on their side of the table.

These days I run Pither Consulting from the Gold Coast, working with water utilities, councils and small-to-medium businesses across Queensland and beyond. My specialty is risk-based management systems: drinking water and recycled water quality, environment, safety and quality — developed, implemented and audited in a way that fits the size and reality of your organisation.

What I care about most is that a system gets used. A management plan that sits on a shelf protects nobody. So I spend time on site, map how work really happens, and build systems your team can run day to day — then help you keep improving them.

Sustainability has always been the thread through my work, and it’s now front and centre: I help businesses understand their environmental impacts, measure their carbon footprint and respond to the climate change expectations built into the new ISO 14001:2026 standard. And because I’d never ask a client to do something I don’t do myself, Pither Consulting measures and publishes its own footprint.
